Clinical & Prescriptions

Medications Dashboard

The Medications page (?page=medications) is a clinic-wide, cross-patient view that surfaces medication issues needing attention — it is not where you prescribe (that happens on the patient's own record) but where you triage what needs follow-up.

What it tracks

  • Expiring soon — active prescriptions ending within 7 days.
  • Overdue refills — prescriptions past their refill date.
  • High-risk drugs without recent labs — patients on drugs like lithium, clozapine, valproate, carbamazepine, olanzapine, quetiapine, risperidone, metformin, or lamotrigine who haven't had monitoring labs in the last 90 days.
  • Pending pharmacy queue — prescriptions waiting to be dispensed (only shown if the Pharmacy module is enabled).
  • Active controlled substances today — a same-day view of controlled drugs currently prescribed.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Medications.
  2. Review each section's summary counts.
  3. Click through to a listed patient to act (renew, adjust, order labs, etc.) from their own record.

Common issues & fixes

the list is a fixed clinical set built into the app; drugs outside that list aren't flagged even if they need monitoring.
only appears when the Pharmacy module is enabled for the clinic.
