IPD: De-addiction

OST Dispensing (Opioid Substitution Therapy)

OST Dispensing (ipd/pages/ost_dispensing.php) records the daily administration of Opioid Substitution Therapy medications — Buprenorphine or Methadone — for a de-addiction admission. Because these are controlled substances, this requires the ipd_ndps_write permission (not just general nursing charts access).

Step-by-step

  1. Go to OST Dispensing for the admission.
  2. The page loads the applicable state compliance rules for that admission automatically (based on its assigned state profile).
  3. Record the day's dose: drug, amount, administering staff member, and time.
  4. Save — this becomes part of the controlled-substance administration trail for the admission, alongside the NDPS Register.

Common issues & fixes

requires ipd_ndps_write; ipd_ndps_read alone isn't enough to dispense.
this reflects the active state compliance profile for the admission; check De-addiction Compliance to confirm the correct profile is applied.
only active staff accounts appear as options; confirm the correct staff member's account is active.
