Turnaround Time (TAT) Dashboard

The TAT Dashboard (lab/pages/tat_dashboard.php) measures how long each order takes to move through every stage — ordered, sample collected, sample received, resulted — over a selected date range (defaults to the last 30 days), helping identify bottlenecks in the lab workflow.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Turnaround Time.
  2. Set the date range.
  3. Review each order's timestamps at each stage (ordered → collected → received → resulted) and the resulting elapsed time.
  4. Look for orders with unusually long gaps between stages to identify where delays are happening (e.g., slow sample transport, backlog at result entry).

Common issues & fixes

a stage transition (e.g., "sample received") may not have been logged if that step was skipped or done outside the normal workflow; ensure staff use the proper pages (Phlebotomy, Receiving, Result Entry) so each milestone is captured.
use this as a prompt to review staffing or process at that specific bottleneck.
