Visitor & Attendant Log

The Visitor & Attendant Log (ipd/pages/visitor_log.php) tracks everyone visiting a ward — who they are, their relationship to the patient, items brought in, and any visit restrictions in place. Requires ipd_nursing_charts.

Step-by-step: checking in a visitor

  1. Go to Visitor & Attendant Log for the admission.
  2. Record the visitor's name, relationship, phone, and ID type/number (e.g., Aadhaar).
  3. Note the visit purpose and any items brought — mark whether items were inspected.
  4. If the patient has a visit restriction in place, mark the visit as restricted and record the reason (the system may block or flag check-in accordingly).
  5. Record who allowed the visit and any additional notes.
  6. Check the visitor out when they leave.

Common issues & fixes

requires ipd_nursing_charts.
check the patient's care plan/ward notes for any standing visitor restrictions before allowing entry, especially for high-risk patients.
for safety (e.g., ligature or contraband risk), item inspection should be routine, not optional, per most ward safety protocols.
